This Spring, enjoy the very special Teddy Bear Takeover at Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park in collaboration with Build-A-Bear and Bear Cottage.

Three delicious tea options are on offer: a Teddy Bear High Tea Buffet, Teddy Bear High Tea on The Park and a Teddy Bears’ Picnic.

Teddy Bear High Tea Buffet

This beary-cute buffet features teddy bear-themed delights, and includes a special Sheraton Build-A-Bear gift for guests to take home. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to participate in the beloved Build-A-Bear “Heart Ceremony,” adding a special and heartfelt touch to the day’s celebrations.

Enjoy sweet teddy bear themed treats including triple chocolate teddy bear cake, teddy bear tartlets and cupcakes and teddy bear Sheraton Honey Crème Brulee.

Cold and hot savoury options include sandwiches, salads, quiche and sausage rolls, and traditional scones with jam and cream to finish off the feast.

Save room to dip delectable delights into the iconic Sheraton chocolate fountain before you roll yourself home!

Huge compliments to the chef, the food at this high tea is outstanding. Fresh, flavourful, and a huge variety of savoury food as well as sweet. The egg sandwiches were a strong favourite, and the mini eclairs and ice cream station).

Highly, highly, highly recommend this high tea buffet!

Bottomless sparkling wine is available as an add on to accompany tea and coffee.

Gluten free and vegan options are also available.

Enjoy The Gallery’s quintessential high tea experience with a beary-special twist. A three-tiered high tea is on offer, including traditional favourites like egg mayonnaise finger sandwich on white bread, wild mushroom & spinach quiche and scones, paired with special teddy bear-themed sweet treats including teddy bear honey almond cake and teddy bear cake pops. Take home your very own exclusive Sheraton Build-A-Bear as a momento of your day.

Included in the tea is their choice of coffee and a selection of The Tea Centre premium loose-leaf teas. Guests can also upgrade to a glass of Prosecco or Champagne.

Teddy Bears’ Picnic

Collect your exclusive Sheraton Build-A-Bear and picnic hamper with bear inspired treats to take on a journey across the road to Hyde Park and enjoy your very own Teddy Bear’s picnic with your new furry friend.

Each hamper includes fresh salads, crusty baguettes and sandwiches, charcuterie and artisan cheese. Sweet treats include traditional scones, red velvet cake and teddy bear themed honey almond cake, teddy bear cake pops and teddy bear cookies.

$99 per adult
$55 per child (aged 4-12)
Bookings must be made with 24hr notice.
Price includes one bear between two. Hampers, blankets and picnic equipment are to be returned post picnic. A fee of $120 will be charged if not returned.

Teddy Bear High Tea Buffet and Build-A-Bear Workshop

Build-A-Bear are known for their bear workshops where guests can pick a furry friend and bring it to life with a Heart Ceremony. Build-A-Bear will be recreating this special ceremony at Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park on the first Saturday of the month up until December.

Build-A-Bear will be onsite for two sessions; 11:30am and 2pm. Each guest will receive a Sheraton Build-A-Bear to keep.

Following the completion of the workshop, guests can indulge in the Teddy Bear High Tea Buffet.

As part of this partnership, Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park is working with Bear Cottage, the only children’s hospice in NSW. High Tea Camden: Brookfield House

Enjoy high tea in historic Brookfield House Camden, constructed for the mounted infantry in 1896 and lovingly restored to its former glory by a local family. Brookfield House was recently reopened as a tea house and store.

The house has been beautifully and thoughtfully renovated with stunning floral designs on the walls and chairs. The venue is also wheelchair and stroller accessible, with a ramp around the side and chair lift to the back entrance.

The high tea at Brookfield House is a delightful, whimsical experience. Delicious food, fragrant, locally brewed teas, and friendly staff who are eager to make diners feel welcome.

The portion sizes are excellent for kids and adults, and the food delectable. Dietary requirements catered for (we had one child and one adult vegetarian).

Do not leave without perusing the gift store. The tea ware and locally produced tea are impossible to walk past.

High Tea at May Gibbs’ Nutcote, Sydney

Enjoy a beautiful high tea at Nutcote, the heritage-listed former home and studio of author and artist May Gibbs.

May Gibbs’ former dwelling and study have been converted into an education centre and house museum, located in Neutral Bay. We have previously visited and highly enjoyed the tour.

Nutcote now offers a delightful high tea on select weekends. The menu includes a selection of freshly made finger sandwiches, home-made scones with jam and cream, sweet treats and your choice of tea or coffee. High tea is served on the undercover terrace.

There are limited spaces available each seating and bookings are essential. Cost for the high tea is $55 per person.

Entry to the museum with guided tour is included in the ticket price. I highly recommend taking the tour as the museum is only accessible during the guided tours.

Bells Road Social Native High Tea

Enjoy the flavours of Australia with a Native High Tea at the Bells Road Social cafe in Oatlands, Sydney.

Bells Road Social is a beautiful little cafe in Oatlands, Sydney. They have developed a beautiful Native High Tea that showcases ingredients that been used by the Indigenous communities for thousands of years. Bookings are essential. There is no kids’ serve of the tea, however they do run a seperate kids’ high tea during school holidays.

The tea includes savoury and sweet options plus hot tea and a cool mocktail, all featuring native ingredients. We had a special vegetarian version of the high tea.

The Native Australian High Tea is open from Tuesday to Saturday between 11 am to 2 pm. Booking is essential (min 2 people).

Price $49 pp.

We really enjoyed our high tea as it was very different from the others we have experienced. It was lovely to introduce my 9-year-old to native Australian ingredients that she had never heard of before.

We highly enjoyed our Native High Tea experience. Every item of food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I also really appreciated that we were given our own vegetarian menu.

Across the road is a lovely little park with lots of shade and play equipment for kids to run around before or after dining at the Bells Road Social. Free street parking is available directly outside of the cafe.

Enjoy the grand tradition of Lilianfels High Tea, served on a three-tier platter, in the elegant Lilianfels Resort & Spa in the NSW Blue Mountains.

It’s always time for tea in the Blue Mountains, and one can’t go past the elegant high tea served in The Lounge of Lilianfels Resort & Spa.

The luxurious Lounge makes for an elegant and warm high tea experience. With plush Victoria armchairs and lounges to recline in, and the delightful ambiance of classical piano being played live, it’s high tea to dally over with loved ones.

Upgrade your high tea to include a glass of Australian sparkling wine or a glass of Moet Chandon NV French Champagne. When we visited, the tea was priced as follows: High Tea $55 per person (Mon to Thu) and $60 per person (Fri to Sun including public holidays), Deluxe High Tea from $75 per person including a glass of Australian sparkling wine and Luxurious High Tea from $80 per person including a glass of Moet Chandon NV French Champagne.

I couldn’t fault the service or food at Lilianfels. The high tea and staff were both perfection, with attentive service and delicious, fresh food.

I particularly liked the amount of savoury items compared to sweet, as my tastes are changing and I really prefer more savoury than sweet these days.

There is a Children’s High Tea available for $35pp, which is also served on a triple-tiered plate and includes selection of pikelets, fairy bread, sandwiches and treats. Served with tea, juice or hot chocolate.

The Lilianfels High Teas are extremely popular so bookings are essential.

The gardens at Lilianfels are lovely so be sure to go for a stroll in them, including the cute little maze, before you go.

Your Vintage Occasion Tea Salon: Dirty Janes High Tea Bowral

The perfect high tea in Bowral. ‘Your Vintage Occassion Tea Salon’ serves up delicious high tea inside Dirty Janes Bowral, in the NSW Southern Highlands.

For an authentic high experience, we absolutely love ‘Your Vintage Occasion Tea Salon’, the quaint and quirky salon inside Dirty Janes Bowral.

With a speciality in high tea, ‘Your Vintage Occasion Tea Salon’ is also a place where you can drop by for a light meal or treat. Their cakes are absolutely incredible, all handmade each day onsite, and the scones are next level. Possibly the perfect scone – light, fluffy and fresh out of the oven.

The menu is a simple one: sandwiches, toasties, soup, pinwheel sandwiches, light meals such as frittata or quiche, and the magnificent scones. Scones are available in a variety of flavours, my favourite bing the rose scone, which comes with rose cream.

Gluten-free options are available for treats and the high tea.

When visiting on a weekday, it’s easy to stroll in and get a table. Weekends, however, are always busy and full up fast. Bookings are available at 10:00 am, 11:30 am, 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm.

The salon puts up what I consider the best high tea in Bowral, and it’s very reasonably pried too at $29 pp or $32 for gluten-free. There was no problem accomodating us with a vegetarian high tea as well.

Each high tea comes with a choice of freshly bakes scones, a daily savoury selection and an assortment of sweets, plus a pot of loose-leaf tea by The Highland’s Tea Company or an espresso coffee.

Kids aren’t left out either, with a Little One’s High Tea for $20pp, including a delicious assortment of treats along with a fruit juice, small iced chocolate or berry swirl.

The Children’s High Tea is a gorgeous affair, featuring fairy bread, kid-friendly pastries and some hot chips for good measure. High tea comes with a hot chocolate or juice, but kids can also select from the tea menu if they like. The nearby Bradley’s Head is great for exploring afterwards.

The kids’ high tea is very thoughtfully designed, with a great selection of kid-friendly food including fairy bread, a chicken & cheese toastie, brownie, watermelon lollypop, banana and chocolate cupcake, macaron and strawberry fondue. It’s extremely reasonably priced at $25 .

Gatehouse Tea Rooms Parramatta

Located in historic Parramatta Park, the Gatehouse Tea Rooms are the perfect spot for introducing kids to high tea. Their “High Tea for Tin Lids” is for littles 3-12 and includes mini cheese sandwiches, fairy bread triangles, mini cupcake and assorted sweet bites plus a juice or soft drink. Run off the sugar afterwards in Parramatta Park on the awesome playgrounds.

High tea takes place in the elegant Cortile dining area, at the InterContinental Sydney. The Sir Stamford regularly runs special themed high teas, however they also offer a standard kids high tea menu for children aged 5-12. The high tea is very similar to the adult one. When we visited, it included sandwiches, scones and sweets including a brownie, macaron, chocolate mousse cup and cheesecake square, plus a glass of juice or hot chocolate.

Overlooking Middle Harbour, Burnt Orange is a gorgeous spot for high tea. Their children’s high tea (for kids under the age of 12), includes a selection of treats including banana raspberry musk sticks and sour snakes, house-made chocolate freckles, kid-friendly sandwiches and scones. Kids will also receive fresh fruit and a choice of flavoured of pain milk, hot chocolate or juice.
