Freshly Cut at the Gaelic Club

I was contacted to photograph a music event sponsored by Jim Beam – Freshly Cut at the Gaelic Club. I haven’t photographed live music before, and after I had finished, I decided it wasn’t really for me. I did however appreciate the opportunity and was happy that I still managed to get some interesting shots. The three bands I photographed were called Seven Steady, Iron Jack and the Snowdroppers.

Ahh the fans. This was Seven Steady.

Iron Duke again.

The lead singer of Iron Duke enjoyed singing from the balcony. Risky moves, I enjoyed it!

AIME National Hoodie Day

I haven’t had time to blog lately, I’ve been too busy taking photos and working.

One event I photographed was the launch of AIME’s National Hoodie Day. One benefit to being the photographer is you get to meet everyone, such as the ambassadors Wendell Sailor and Ian Thorpe.

Football legend Wendell Sailor.

Me and Thorpie. He is a bit of a giant.

Doodle for Google

Today was the big Doodle for Google day in Sydney – where all of the finalists were flown to Sydney and the winner was announced. It was great to see so many kids who were excelling in art and enjoying themselves, as well as being fun for us big kids too.

I meet Dennis Hwang, the original Google Doodler. He was kind enough to sign some doodles for me.

The finalists.

Dennis takes centre stage.

One of the doodles Dennis signed for me. It will be auctioned off to make money for charity.

Yaaaaay Doodle for Google day. 🙂

The Rocks Aroma Festival

Alec and I went to the Aroma coffee, chocolate and spice festival at the Rocks today. It rained and there were many many people, but we still managed to run into Jamie and Alice, and to have many coffees and chocolate thingys.

Chocolate shots.

This is what being hyped up on coffeeeeeeee and chocolate shots looks like.

For The Puppies

The RSPCA is my favourite charity, so it was great to be able to attend the RSPCA Paws For Celebration Ball this year with some fellow Googlers and eBay/Shopping.com-ers. Animal cruelty makes me so angry. The money raised from the ball is going towards starting an education program for youths to stop youth violence towards animals. I think the program is a great idea. I don’t understand how anyone could be cruel to an animal, and it obviously says a lot about the people who to the unspeakable things to defenseless animals and the type of person they are going to become in society.
